GCI has extensive experience working with Indigenous peoples, industry, & government in western Canada:
Nch'Kay Development Corporation - As Procurement Manager for the Squamish Nation & the Woodfibre LNG project, Thomas represents the Squamish Nation interests for all business activities related to pre-construction & FEED processes for Nchu’7mut Contracting. In this role Thomas works with multiple stakeholders, including the project owner, prime contractor proponents, varying organizational departments internal to the Squamish Nation, Squamish Nation businesses, & others. Thomas was selected for this role for his attention to execution, strategic direction, cultural understanding, & experience on large scale construction - complex projects within western Canada.
Creative Energy - GCI has worked for or alongside Creative Energy (CE) since 2022 providing cultural oversight, business & cultural relations, & alternative solutions to improve brand recognition through diversity & inclusion strategies. In 2022 GCI advised CE on inclusive Indigenous practices to further enhance the work protocols to be inclusive of their Indigenous audience within corporate marketing & engagement protocols. In 2023 GCI & CE hosted Indigenous awareness training in a guided educational experience that allowed for open & honest communication between GCI & CE staff on Indigenous peoples history of British Columbia & the opportunity to consider one another as an ally for future relations.
St'at'imc Government Services - GCI worked in collaboration with Two World’s Consulting (TWC) to develop a strategic plan for the Bridge-Seton watershed located near Lillooet for St’at’imc Government Services. For this project, GCI was the acting Project Sponsor assisting in communication & facilitation of project deliverables & objectives in collaboration with the TWC project team & SGS Environmental. The overall purpose of the plan was to align St’at’imc cultural values & history to the plans strategic direction & implementation by considering impacts on the watershed from industry & other activities.
Clough Enercore Limited - As Indigenous Affairs & Public Mitigation Officer for the FortisBC Tilbury Truck Expansion project, GCI led the Clough Group in the strategic direction & execution of Indigenous & equity programming for this project. Through community outreach & connection, GCI enhanced the project delivery outputs by aligning the project participants to Indigenous community initiatives.
Kitamaat Valley Education Society / Kitimat Valley Institute - GCI was commissioned to provide an environmental scan of the organization & outline recommendations to improve the strategic direction of the society. Multiple surveys were conducted with Board members, society team members, & affiliated stakeholders in addition to the organizational information shared with GCI prior to a final report which outlined a logical & systematic approach in aligning stakeholders & organizational output.
Thomas has worked with many Indigenous communities & allies throughout his career in western Canada. Now through GCI, Thomas is an active participant in implementing UNDRIP protocols & strategies for Indigenous peoples, industry, & government. Through GCI, Thomas has developed, implemented & achieved incentives for all participants to collaborate for joint successes in major projects.
